3 Yoga Poses To Stimulate Hair Growth

W hat Is Yoga?
Now we all know that yoga is a form of exercise, what exactly is its origin? Yoga is an exercise regime that combines the practice of meditation and exercise to help you improve in your breathing, postures and make it easier to relax. There are plenty of yoga poses to stimulate hair growth and result in many other benefits. It does this by incorporating various poses ranging in levels of difficulties, each different to help you become a better version of yourself.
Yoga originated in Northern India and can be traced back to before 3000 BCE. The practice was made by the rishis and made to be much more than an exercise. Yoga was originally a method of meditation, meant to align your spiritual energy and internal balance, and help you better connect with your inner self.
Now, you may know that yoga is great for your body and mind, but did you know that it can also be beneficial to your hair? That's right, many yoga poses can help stimulate your growth and also make them healthier.
We decided to compile a list of some of the best of these poses so here are 3 yoga poses to stimulate your hair growth.
Kapalbhati
The word kapalbhati comes from the combination of two Sanskrit words: Kapala, meaning head, and Bhati meaning light. This exercise is mainly a breathing exercise whose main purpose is to rejuvenate the head area and increase your airflow. It allows a better oxygen supply, helping your blood flow as well. All these factors combined can help rejuvenate your skin, and hair, promoting growth.
Thankfully, this exercise is a fairly easy one to do, there are only a few steps.
The first step is to sit down, in a cross-legged position. Next, rest your hands on your knees and try to loosen up your abdomen and the muscles surrounding it. Then, start inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply. Do this in a way that lays emphasis on contracting and releasing your abdomen muscles. Continue the exercise for a few minutes and practice daily.
Balasana
Balasana, or better known as the child’s pose, is a pose that is more related to reducing hair fall rather than increasing hair growth directly. Balasana does this by working on two important causes of hair fall: stress and digestive issues. The pose is a very relaxing way to exercise the stomach muscles. Since the pose is a slow, relaxing exercise that doesn’t require you to do much more than just lie down, it also helps deal with anxiety.
So this pose helps with both your digestive tract as well as improving your mental health, hence promoting hair growth.
This pose begins with sitting on your mat with your legs folded back to your hips. You must then stretch your arms towards your head and start slowly exhaling. Try getting your torso as close to the ground as you can and touch your arms and head against the floor. Keep repeating this breathing pattern and hold the pose for about a minute.
Vajrasana
Vajrasana is a pose that directly combats stomach issues. As mentioned previously, stomach issues can be a huge factor in hair loss, hair thinning, and graying. Studies suggest that people with digestive issues are more likely to develop hair loss and bald patches. Vajrasana deals with this by helping unclog your digestive tract and improve your digestion as a whole. Your hair best absorbs the nutrients from your food when your body is able to digest the food and release the nutrients appropriately in your body. As long as your diet is good, this exercise will have a positive impact on your hair growth and hair health as a whole.
To perform this pose, sit down by folding your knees beneath yourself and supporting yourself with your heels. Put your hands on your thighs and face directly forward. Continue in this position and take long deep breaths for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Repeat this exercise daily for the same amount of time.
Yoga is a great form of meditation and exercise that can bring positive effects to every aspect of your life, Whether it be your mental or physical health, however, we hope we helped shine some light on one of the lesser-known aspects of it such as its benefits for hair growth.
